Physics department is one of the oldest departments in Maharaja Jivajirao Shinde College. It was established in 1982 in the College and affiliated to Savitribai Phule University of Pune. To enhance the interest of students and importance in future, department started Renewable energy Sources as an interdisciplinary subject at B.Sc. The vision of the department is to open various avenues in physics for students and enable them to grow up with excellence in academics and social values. Education to downtrodden, poor and ignorant that constitute major bulk of society. To be the fountainhead of new ideas of innovations in physical sciences. Commitment to excellence in teaching. To provide opportunities for enhancing knowledge and values in a supportive learning environment. To develop the scientific temper amongst the students and teachers.
